Women Pilots

Margery Brown may have only been 4'11," but her spunk did not reflect her height. She was a journalist and a pilot and wrote on flying. She was a strong advocate for changing the negative views on women pilots in the 1920s, and she believed that aviation for women built their independence and lowered their tolerance for gender inequality. In 1929, she and a few other women pushed for the formation of a women pilots club. Soon, she became one of the original members of the Ninety-Nines.
