Women Pilots

Olive Ann Beech (right), ran the Beech Aircraft Corporation after her husbands death in 1950. Beech was CEO of the company for 18 years, earning the reputation as the Queen of aviation from the press and the Aviation community. Bernice Steadman (left) was one of the first members of the Mercury 13. Steadman was an enthusiastic air racer and won several races while she was flying. The Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame inducted Steadman in 2002.
