On this day in 1929, a group of women met and had tea in a hangar at Curtiss Field in Valley Stream, New York in order for female pilots to share their experiences and news in the aviation industry. Since its beginning, the 99s has inspired women pilots through education, scholarships, and mutual support while sharing their passion for flight!
