Women Pilots

Nancy Livingston learned to fly in 1939. While in college, she taught people how to fly just a few weeks before WWII started. She joined the Air Transport Auxiliary after being rejected by the U.S. Army. Livingston piloted many different planes for the ATA, often without the proper navigation equipment. After the war, she and her husband ran a helicopter business in Juneau, Alaska.
